trance[]control , Atomic Dance Explosion - Review Made by ChrisTUFR Okay...this song has been on the topcharts
for a while...and we're about to see why ...kay...the intro is pretty typical...a few sounds tossed in gradually...but you've got the commercial short intro trick down to an art here...works real well...and your instrumentation is pretty good....now, I can see a huge antiloop influence in your music...the rolling bass sound is very cool and I like the way you chose the instruments for the main section of the song...now, I like how you're changing up the notation of the instruments through the song - this makes for a somewhat interesting track...I like how you have the quiet sections with just the main instrument(s) and just a simple clap/hat thing....then you break into a higher pitched section (very similar to the technique I use in The Nth Man...you really know how to keep this track interesting for the entire 3 minutes...now...the end just came a little too quick for me...I don't know a good way to re-implement a good ending here but I do know that it needs something that breaks down more gradually... Intro: could use a bit more work here...I just go for the more spiced up thing myself...try to get something funky happening and SNAP up the listener's attention....but you definately got the commercially popular short intro thing down pat...that's very important....some people drag those intros on forever :P....8/10 Rhythm: The beat is very typical for the style...but very nicely done...you definately keep me happy by changing up the rhythmic elements during breaks and quiet parts....this shows a care for the rhythm section as opposed to the more common case of ignoring the rhythm altogether leaving one with a boom tss boom tss and nothing more but a few rolls...9/10 Melody: very nice mellody..you changed it
up, had higher pitched stuff, kept some feeling behind the song...very
nicely done....also, a catchy hook...it's whistle-able Structure: very good work on the structure...you got a good feel for bringing stuff in and out to keep people interested...and that's the key....9/10 Overall: 45/50 (90%) |
