New track: Phantasphere - Sink into oblivion

Hi,

I uploaded a new track that i already made a while ago. It's not my usual style, i actually don't really know wich genre it is... So i just labeled it "trance". I'd like to hear your opinions on this one!

http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/2921/2921746.html

Thanx in advance, Tim

Intro sounds like Clockworks Orange

I think its very chilled.. Sounds old-school over the track....

weird intro.

nice pads..
hihats are ok.. id go for more acoustic ones in the intro..

cool bass..
ohh is ok.. i would like a more "open" style one on the top of that..

cool type lead - i would like it a bit bigger..
nice ride - ohh needs to be louder now.. like a longer one.. thats my opinion tho.

synth guitars i hate.. sorry..
oh no its a filtered piano.. use a short synth rather than a piano - sounds way too old school..

other than that levels are great..
quality is good..

something bout the song doesnt faze me at all..

nice work all in all.

chris

The pad intro is kool. The bas is kinda dope... The open hat I don't like to much.. but its kool. This is sorta like Psy trance. Sorta...

the bass should have a bit more sub to it..

Is that a gated piano line I hear? Sounds kinda kool.. The drum sequence is nice. Nice drum fill. I can't really give a constructive review cuz I'm just not in the mood. Sorry. But its sorta kool...

i dunno bout that - but with subtraxx we now have some goo d connections - so i hope so.. i wanna get the ep signed rather than just 1 track if you know what i mean - thats why we wanna finish it.. release #3 is sounding good now too! jazzy and im playing some nice guitar in it too.. lol

we will make a website with previews and stuff..
um..

btw- one mistake is remade - 100% from scratch so now its heaps better than the lofi version u hear on the subtraxx site.

im confident tho - my skills and mastering abilities are heaps better than before (i actually understand what does what now lol)

thanks for the interest

Hahaha, Yeah... I'm still learning how to master good. If your EP hit's the stores and every song is as good (or even better) as one mistake i definately gonna buy it!

Neat... I think... Sorta cold, but 1/5th the way through the song you get the good stuff going, and then from there it's pretty good.
I'd give it 7 out of 10. It's just not my style.

Oh, and at one point, the piano goes fast and hyper for half a measure. Try to avoid it when it's not a lead-in.
Keep the bass guitar & drum&bass kit solo to a minimum, also don't make those parts too long.

Very good job, I just can't review it well because I don't like repetetive.

Sounds really cool! I really like the flavor of the sound. It's not hard, but hard in a way, kind of ambient, kind of techno ... it's something I haven't heard before, I like the originality! Here's some pointers for what I'd do if I was writing the song ...

0:00 The pads are absolutely perfect, don't touch them

0:15 The bass guitar sounds good, but it needs to hold it's note until the next pluck. And add delay that feedbacks every 3 steps ... and more reverb. Maybe make a little riff?

0:25 The percussion needs some better mastering, bring out more of the hidden drums, they sound great. Maybe a small reverb with a long decay? Less velocity overall.

0:57 VERY cool transition and bassline!!

1:10 Use a different OHH, something with decay and more realistic.

1:25 I like the transition again! Maybe a more saw-like lead with decay. Maybe detuned? Good portamento!

1:53 Reat ride, perfect velocity too.

2:06 I like that FX a lot!

2:20 VERY cool FX!! Maybe add a sine wave-style bass sound to the effect, following it's pitch, so the sound doesn't doesn't sound so empty? The piano needs a lot of reverb.

2:52 Awesome transition again!! Dude you've got it down!

3:20 It needs something, maybe more percussion?

3:46 I like the fade out thing! The piano riff is also awesome!

4:15 Perfect place for the ride.

4:40 The repetitiveness sounds great

4:42 The piano needs the same as the bass guitar ... longer note, reeverb, delay

4:54 Awesome riff! it needs a little reverb. I can tell it's the same generator as the riffs I heard before, but the sound of this one sounds great in the place it's in. Maybe a more ambient sound ... reverb and less velocity?

5:13 Cool ending!
