Angry BURGLERY IN OUR STUDIO!!!

FYI.

On the night between Monday 13'th and Tuesday 14'th 2003 between 01:15 - 02:30 an unknown party of characters broke into our studio and robbed us clean...

They took pretty much everything of value and our insurance won't cover our losses (Computer with aprox 3 years of original work, synths, poweramp etc. - it's all gone). On the same floor lies 3 other studios that also got cleaned out.

Further more - this whole incident will stall us pretty hard in regards of music production - Both me and WennE are out of cash to buy new eqipment and we will basicly have to start from scratch building a new sound/sample library & try to get back in the loop. An estimate would be at least 2 months before we can get enough money to get a new computer and then we can hopefully use our last MP3.com paycheck to get new Creamware Cards. In total we're talking about getting back in production by mid April 2003. If either one of us get's a job or some sort of income we might be able to cut some time.

PLEASE - Spread the word about this and make it hard for the people who stole our property to sell the equipment.

We would very much apprechiate if you would keep an eye open for wierd or suspicious adds where people might try to sell gear that might be ours.

Here's the list of gear lost as we know it so far...

trance[]control lost:
1x Computer with aprox 120 GB of work & samples (3 years worth)
2x Creamware Pulsar II Cards
1x Roland TB303 (This one has battery acid leaked out on the bottom-panel).
1x Clavia Nordrack - Fully expanded
1x NAD 216 THX Poweramp
1x 14" TV/VCR Set

Insurance: WONT'T COVER THE LOSS
Estimated value: Aprox 85.000 SEK ($9,500 USD)

Kyloe Music (Dynamo / Dynamic) lost:

1x Pair of Event 20/20 BAS
1x Fully expanded Yamaha 02r Mixerdesk
1x Computer with a bagload of work
1x Creamware Pulsar II Card
1x Waldorf XT
1x KORG MS2000R

Insurance: WILL COVER THE LOSS - But not as a full replacement.
Estimated value: Aprox 125.000 SEK ($13,900 USD)

Human Blue [Spiral Traxx]

1x KORG Trinity Plus
1x Par of Event PS8
1x Clavia Nordrack
1x Expanded Yamaha A3000
1x Yamaha 01v Digital Mixerdesk with ADAT Expansion.
1x Yamaha DX200
1x KORG Electribe ER1
1x FX Processor Sony DPSV55
1x 17" TFT Monitor - DELL 1702FP
1x Set of Microsoft Intellipoint wireless desktop mouse+keyb

Insurance: WONT'T COVER THE LOSS
Estimated value: Aprox 59.000 SEK ($6,600 USD)

Jingle Bills Music

1x Fully expanded Yamaha 02r Mixerdesk

--> List is to be continued as I gather the information...

Thanks for your support, all the best

Alex with Friends & Studioneigbours

Thanks for the sympathy guys...

Never got a chance to create backups - all M2002 work is lost along with just about every MIDI/Logic file we've ever created...

holy shit that sucks!

it makes me mad enough to have stolen the gear - but to steal all of ur hard work is just heart breaking..

look hard in all the op shops for your gear - try internet sites and forums of ppl selling gear.

how much will insurance cover???

nothing i can do from over here it just sucks..

That's horrible. Was there any security system installed in the Studio? Get the police in there to do their work. I'm pretty sure something will come up.

That really bites though. 3 years of work, Gone. I'd kill the bastards.

I hope everything goes well, though. Best of luck to you guys.

[Alarmsystem is to be installed within the next few days]

As for the insuarnce issue - we won't get one cent for what was stolen as we didn't have our own private insurance - I thought my moms insurance would cover this but I was dead wrong - Here's the basic layout of the rules - read & learn - I don't want any other of you to get in the same situation...

INSURANCE TYPE:
It's a normal home-insurance...

There are several parts to watch out for - stuff that they don't mention when you sign on...

FIRST:

If you live @ home you won't be able to use the home insurance your parents signed on for after the day you turn 18. The minute you turn 18 you're an Adault in the Swedish system, meaning that you have to have your own insurance. So if you're 19 and get badly hurt the insurance won't cover the medical bills, you won't get compensated in any way.

SECOND:

Once you got your own home-insurance - the insurance is only valid for goods with a high demand if the equipment is located @ the address for where the insurance is valid - Meaning that if you have a separate studio you'll need an addition in the insurance policy that will cover high-risk equipment on a 2'nd specified address.

THIRD:

Once you get the additional insurance - Make sure to get the insurance company to get there and inspect the locks & doors - They'll most likely say you need to switch to specified locks, fireproof doors & additional bolts before they approve the location as a valid location.

In short: It's a bitch, but hopefully other will be able to draw advantage of our misstakes and secure their equipment & work.

If this can help out.

I am very saddened to hear about this, I think it must be the pop music gods trying to stop your trance takeover. I have a lot of money sitting in my paypal account, please let me know if I can be of some help. I also have an old geforce 1 video card and a tnt2 ultra that you can have if it will help you get a new computer running quicker. You guys have known me for a while, and I've been kind of close with DJ C, you guys are the reason I started writing music. Please email me at ▓ e-mail address hidden and tell me if I can give you/loan you any money or computer parts.

Also I think that you guys should open up a paypal account set to recieve money so that if anyone wants to donate money they'd be able to. Just a suggestion! Good luck getting your feet back on the ground.
