About the track
According to the band's biography of June 2000, Fragment of Time climbed to No. 16 on MP3.com's overall Top 40 after three weeks on the site, which the band had joined in August 1998. With that placing behind them, the biography says, the two sent their first demo CDs to a few labels and publishers.1
On 18 October 1998 the band signed a contract giving Frontline Music Publishing the rights to Fragment of Time and Virtual Love. The biography says that signing with Backbeat, the music group behind Frontline, meant removing the band's "Top Chart hit" from MP3.com and starting over.2,1
