Phazed Reality

About the track

On MP3.com the track was listed as "Phazed Reality [[ 2000-09-05 ]]", a progressive trance track. The band wrote that after a long gap, with computer problems and a lack of inspiration, it was proud to present another progressive "killer" track, whose melody recalled its one-time No. 1, Dream of Trance.¹

The band made a single demo song for Reason 1.0, on a beta version that, Alexander wrote in 2003, barely worked. In 2004 he identified that demo, "Do We Need a Reason", as the Reason version of Phazed Reality, and listed what its samples were taken from: a Roland JP-8080 (bassline and lead), a Roland Juno 106 (bassline) and a JoMoX Airbase99 (drums and percussion). The band's podcast of 2005 called Phazed Reality the original work behind the demo and added that the track itself was not made with Reason.^4,2,5,3

Several forum members knew the track from Reason 1.0, where it came as a demo song, and one wrote that hearing it there had made them look up the band.^4,6,5

By September 2001 three MP3.com artists had posted remixes of it on the band's trance[]control ReMixed network. In June 2004 Alexander added it to the regular MP3 Vault as a 128 kbps file, in October 2005 it was one of the free tracks of the band's podcast, and in 2012 it was remastered for the collection Lost and Found.^7,8,3,9,10
