On the bill with trance[]control: Massive Intent, Sacramento, California (8 October 2005)

Background

E-Sassin is a drum and bass DJ and producer from Los Angeles who played drums in rock and metal bands before he moved into electronic music around 1989. While touring with the group The Movement in the early 1990s he discovered jungle, and in 1996 he founded Sound Sphere Recordings to release his own drum and bass, at a time when few labels in the United States put out the genre. From late 1997 he was part of the San Francisco collective Phunckateck. [1, 2]

At the time

By 2005 he had released records on Sound Sphere, Pneuma, Titanium and Thermal, the Secular Motion EP on the UK label Moving Shadow (2003), and remixes for Dieselboy, The Angel and MC Navigator. In 2005 his track Interface was included on the soundtrack of the video game Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition. The Massive Intent announcement billed him with Soundsphere Recordings, Moving Shadow and Phunckateck. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Later

He later put Sound Sphere on hold; in 2014 he launched Sound Sphere Music for the label's back catalogue, released the single Bacterium / Microbes and was one of the winners of a Kmag remix competition with his remix of Dom & Roland's Get Up. Discogs lists further releases, among them a Sound Sphere remix album (2015) and the Asylum EP on Section 8 Records (2018). [1, 2]
