Background
Gayle San was a techno DJ and producer from Singapore who moved to the UK in 1988, was resident at the Reach for the Sky night at London's Limelight and then at Universe's Final Frontier nights at Club UK, later Universe Voyager, and at the Tribal Gathering festivals. She went on to a monthly residency at the Omen in Frankfurt and ran her own label, Equator. [1, 2]
At the time
In 2000 she released 12-inches on Fine Audio Recordings (Lost In The Eastend), Compressed (Cross E.P.) and the US label Black Nation (Backbone E.P.), and her mix CD At The Wheels Of Steel came out on Galvanic in April. In August 2000 she was billed at S.O'Neal's birthday party at the Warehouse in Cologne with Roland Casper, Massimo and Sebbo. [1, 2]
Later
She kept playing internationally and later ran the label GSR. In February 2019 she announced that she would end her DJ career with a farewell tour that year while staying active in the studio. [1, 2, 3]
