Background
Liquid Todd was a New York DJ and radio host who launched the electronic music show Solid State on 92.3 K-Rock in April 1996, also carried by WBCN in Boston; his own site described him as the first to bring techno to commercial radio in New York and Boston. He had also produced music as half of the duo Wide, signed to Atlantic Records. [1]
At the time
In 2000 he hosted Solid State from midnight to 4 a.m. on Saturdays, and after his first mix CD, Action, on Ultra Records in 1999 he released the V2 mix CD Subsonic. His site listed a set with BT at the Bowery Ballroom in New York on 25 July 2000. [1, 2, 3]
Later
Solid State ran for eight years on K-Rock and continued for two more as Altered State on 103.5 WKTU. After he joined Sirius Satellite Radio in 2004, his proposals led to the new channels Area, Chill and Boombox, and he went on to host the weekday afternoon show on SiriusXM's BPM. [1]
