About the track
By October 2002 the band had put the track on MP3.com, calling it the theme track for its long anticipated album OUT THERE and writing that, after a long line of problems with labels, the album had never been released and had been dropped.1,3
The band's press kit of November 2003 nevertheless listed OUT THERE as a retail album of 15 January 2002 on Sunrise/SHR, "Discontinued due to label crash", and in October 2003 Alexander told listeners that with luck they might find it on Amazon.com. When the band reissued it through Ampcast on 30 April 2004, he noted that the new CD was not exactly the album SHR had released, because Ampcast allowed 70 minutes and the original ran 78:48.2,4,5
In their words
