The story
Before
The band took the place of Blank & Jones, who had cancelled their booking. On 24 September 2003 Alexander posted the booking as "100% confirmed". The band flew to Montreal and stayed with a friend, Tim; Andreas wrote of "beeing back in Montreal", and on the day Alexander wrote that the promoter had arranged for the whole night to be filmed. [1, 2, 3, 4]
The night
A computer that was not powerful enough crashed about ten minutes before the set: the audio driver failed and Logic crashed several times. The band had to postpone for about two hours and let Indica play first. When it was ready, at about 5 am, the mixer's outputs had gone dead, though they had worked at the soundcheck, and the crowd waited five minutes in silence. Then "ppl started screaming & cheering, and they wouldn't stop until we where finnished". [1]
After
During the trip the band asked its agent in Canada to find two more shows that year, and a three-week tour of Australia in March 2004 was mentioned; neither came about. The band later reported that its fee for the night was never paid. In March 2004 it put a recording of the set in the MP3 Vault, and in April a separate "High Society [Waterworld Mix]" in the VIP Vault. [1, 2, 3, 4]
