About the release
Alexander wrote that he had rebuilt his collection of uncompressed master recordings with the help of friends, searching through hundreds of old CDs in storage and at old friends' houses, and that anyone who had the original MP3 files would hear "the monstrous difference between original and fresh remastered version".1
Announced on 18 April 2012 as a global re-release, it came out on 19 April on iTunes and Amazon, with eMusic, Rhapsody, Spotify, Napster, Deezer, MySpace, Last.fm, Google Music and other outlets to follow, and by 25 April it was on Bandcamp, at $1 an album. Its page named Gothenburg Sound, Haunted Souls and Restricted Area among the band's best-known tracks.2,3,1
In their words
“All previous versions of this album (Both CD and Digital) have been constructed using 160 Kbps MP3 files.”
